Tree House

Over the last two months we have been preparing to move out of our current apartment. I've really loved living here since we moved in last summer, the community is great and the neighborhood is really quiet. The apartment itself is small but it has plenty of closet space and is laid out nicely.

Another nice feature is the balcony.

Since we are on the third floor of our building, which, being in "Tree Town" (as they call it) is surrounded by beautiful oak trees, our balcony makes our tiny apartment look very much like a little tree house!!!

I'm always amazed at the abundance of wild life that like to come visit our lofty love nest.

For example:

this little guy who likes to steal almonds from our railing. Of course you can't really call it stealing when you put the almonds out specifically to attract the charming little rodent. :) Isn't he cute?! You can't believe how fast this guy is. He's like a streak of lighting.

Yesterday he was on our balcony poaching some almonds. Once I put them on the ledge, it doesn't take long for him to show up.

Once he decides it is safe, he comes and sits on the railing by the door nibbling. It is so charming that I'm starting to worry that I'm going to put out too many nuts to try to tame him and the next thing you know he's got a weight problem. I'll have to be more careful about that, but really, I'm sure he won't mind.
